Moose Washington D.C. – October, 2003 – Five leaders will be honored by The African American Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County, Maryland on Wednesday October 15, 2003 at their "Celebration of Business Excellence" Award Banquet – A Tribute to African American Business. Hilton Augustine, CEO of GMSI, is being recognized as Businessman of the Year. An engineer by training, Mr. Augustine’s company provides information technology services to the federal government. "Beyond being a model entrepreneur, Mr. Augustine has demonstrated a hands-on commitment in assisting and mentoring others. His involvement is so important because of the magnifier effect and tangible impact it has in the community," stated Janice M. Freeman, President and CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce. Also to be recognized at the eighth annual awards will be the Businesswoman, Educator, and Community Service leaders of the year, with a Special Tribute to former Montgomery County Police Chief Charles A. Moose, Ph.D. In addition, four scholarships will be awarded.
