GMSI features non-salary benefits inclusive of:
Health Insurance
GMSI recognizes that rising health care costs have resulted in health insurance often playing a larger role in job decisions. We believe that part of assuring excellent customer service is to assure the health and peace of mind of our employees who serve those customers. As part of the GMSI commitment to all of our employees, we offer a generous health care package. GMSI offers health care through a Preferred Provider Network, or PPO. As part of the GMSI family friendly policy, coverage is also available for an employee’s spouse and dependent children.
- Medical — Medical coverage includes routine office visits for only a $10 co-payment and 90 percent coverage of in-patient care within the network. Care is also available outside the network at higher cost. Prescription coverage is included, with a maximum co-payment of $15. Mail-in service, which includes a 90-day supply of a prescription drug, is available at a cost of only two co-payments.
- Dental — Dental insurance is available and covers preventative, basic, and restorative care. Our dental care network is an open network, which allows employees and their covered dependents to visit their dentist of choice. Orthodontia is included and covers both adults and children.
- Vision — Vision care is available to assist with the cost of annual eye exams and eyewear, such glasses and contact lenses.
- Flexible Spending Account — To help even further with health care coverage, GMSI offers reimbursement accounts for tax-advantaged payment of health and dependent care costs. These allow an employee to set aside money from each paycheck on a pre-tax basis, which can then be used to pay medical bills not covered by the health care plan or to pay the costs of caring for qualified dependents. The account supplements the current “section 125 plan” which provides for the pre-tax payment of the employee portion of the health insurance premium.
Paid Time Off
GMSI believes that all employees are entitled to time away from the office to rest, relax, vacation, or otherwise have the opportunity to participate in non-work-related activities. There are 10 annual company holidays for all employees. Additionally, employees can accrue up to 15 days of vacation depending on their length of service to GMSI. Full-time employees also accrue sick leave to meet any periods of illness or personal needs. GMSI also provides civic duty leave, with paid and unpaid leaves available to meet civic obligations such as jury duty or military reserve duty.
Employee Services
GMSI sponsors employee meetings and other events, such as the annual picnic and holiday party. We also offer direct deposit, which allows you to have your pay deposited directly in the financial institution(s) of your choice. This reduces demands on your time to physically deposit your check and ensures prompt access to the money you have earned. You may elect to have all or part of your pay deposited into one or more accounts at banks, credit unions, or other financial institutions.
Financial Security Assistance
GMSI encourages all employees to plan for retirement. To help you reach your goals, we offer a 401(k) plan for tax-deferred retirement savings. New employees may join the plan during the first enrollment period following their date of hire. Enrollment is offered at the beginning of each quarter. After 6 months in the plan, GMSI will match the first six percent of your savings at 50 cents for each dollar you save. Rollover contributions from other employers may be made immediately.
GMSI also provides disability, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage. Disability coverage for both short-term and long-term disabilities is provided to all regular full-time employees. GMSI provides life insurance in amounts equal to 150 percent of your annual base salary. Accidental death and dismemberment insurance is also provided in amounts equal to 150 percent of your annual base salary.
GMSI believes that the health of our employees is also assured through physical exercise. We offer health club membership for full-time employees and provide sponsorship support for team sports.
