GMSI founder and CEO Hilton Augustine, Jr., an engineer by training (BS in electrical and computer engineering, University of Wisconsin) and by practice (a top-performing IBM salesman followed by nearly 15 years at the helm of GMSI), saw that the computer hardware and software industries were not defining interface standards fast enough to meet market needs resulting in increasingly complex office automation challenges.
