GMSI/Atvantec and Hummingbird Ltd. Announce Partnership to Provide Integrated Legal Management Solutions for Government and Corporate America
Bethesda, MD and Philadelphia, PA – January 23, 2001 – GMSI/Atvantec, a world-class provider of network and systems integration solutions and Hummingbird Ltd. (NASDAQ: HUMC and TSE: HUM), a world leading enterprise software solutions company, announces the release of Unimation a Unified Matter & Information Management System. Under the terms of the partnership Atvantec will package and deliver an integrated solution suite of Hummingbird commercial (COTS) products and Atvantec developed software that provide legal customers with a gateway to all their legal department's information, from their web browser or Windows desktop.
Unimation is designed specifically for knowledge-intensive, matter-centric, and paperless environments and has been successfully installed and implemented within several very high-profile government sites. It is ideally suited to increase workflow efficiency, matter referrals, collaboration, individual productivity, and information sharing across various agencies, divisions, workgroups and individuals. The Unimation solution provides a complete range of modular legal management COTS software products (DOCS Open™, DOCS/RM™ and LawPack™) and services, including Case Management, Document Management and (5015.2) Records Management.
The Atvantec Uniprofile component provides users with a single point of entry and reduces the amount of time spent entering duplicate profile information. Uniprofile also provides integration for the Web. Uniprofile dynamically generates HTML forms and client based form validation. Uniprofile also provides integration with Hummingbird DOCS Fusion™. This is a great solution for integrating additional applications with CyberDOCS servers.
Unimation's modular design contains databases that support case management, non-case related actions, investigations, Ethics Training, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and for tracking all FOIA/PA requests. Through Unimation users will be able to perform appropriate matter management functions; e-mail documents or matter information from a single interface; set suspense dates using an automatic notification feature that provides notification via Microsoft Outlook of suspense dates due and past due; and is in compliance with existing directives for FOIA and Privacy Act reporting requirements. Unimation also provides the ability to extract information from each of the databases to assist with generating, point-and-click, reports for FOIA/PA, investigations, case workload, and performance metrics.
